The CCP’s Chilling 100% Media Ban & The Possible Reason Behind It

Hello, everyone, welcome to “Inconvenient Truths”. I am your host Jennifer Zeng.

Today I will talk about a very important issue that is happening in China right now: A comprehensive ban of any non state-owned companies from getting involved in many news reporting and media related activities, and why does the CCP need to implement such a comprehensive ban. I will talk about the possible reason at the end of the show, which is also very important to know. So please make sure you stick around till the end.

Comprehensive Media Ban

On Oct 8, the CCP’s Development and Reform Commission issued a so-called “draft version of negative entry list” for public comment, which has caused a lot of attention and concerns. Before I explain what is in that negative entry list, let me explain a little bit of what the CCP’s Development and Reform Commission is.

So this is the English version of the CCP’s Development and Reform Commission. It says the commission is a ministerial-level department of the State Council. And its mission is to implement the CCP’s policies and decisions on development and reform, and it adheres to and strengthens the party’s centralized and unified leadership over development and reform, etc.

So the negative entry list says that non state-owned capital shall not do the following:

№1: Engage in news gathering, editing, broadcasting and distribution business.

№2: Invest in or operate news organizations, including but not limited to news agencies, newspaper publishing units, radio and television broadcasters, radio and television stations, as well as Internet news and information gathering and publishing services.

№3: Become a subcontractor of pages, frequencies, channels, columns, public accounts, etc. of news organizations.

№4: Engage in live broadcast business involving political, economic, military, diplomatic, major social, cultural, scientific and technological, health, education, sports and other activities and events related to political direction, public opinion guidance and value orientation.

№5: Introduce news released by foreign organizations.

№6: Hold forums and summits in the field of news and public opinion, and award and selection activities.

Well, quite tough, right?

Let’s talk about these items one by one.

So, the first item just bans any non state-owned companies from doing news gathering, editing, broadcasting and distribution outright.

The second item bans any non state-owned companies from even investing in any media companies.

The third item bans non state-owned companies from operating other media entities’ pages, channels, public accounts, etc.

You know, in China, sometimes an official media company owns a newspaper, but sub-contract several pages of the newspaper to another company and charges money for that. So this kind of thing will not be allowed in the future.

Also let me explain a little bit of the so-called “public account”. It refers to the account at social media platforms.

For example, I have an account on Facebook. This is my personal account. You can see I already have 5000 friends, which mean I have reached my limit and cannot have more.

But if I set up a Facebook Page, I can have an unlimited number of followers.

So in China, they have similar social media platforms, and so this kind of account is called a “public account”. Many media companies and online influencers have this kind of account and large numbers of followers.

So, this means that in the future, non state-owned companies cannot even run media related social media accounts.

The 4th item bans non state-owned companies from doing live broadcasts virtually about anything. Maybe the only thing you can do is live streaming your family cooking or gardening skills. Just a joke.

The 5th item bans you from introducing news released by foreign companies. This one means that in the future, only state-owned media can translate and re-post news reports of foreign media. Maybe you’ll even violate this item by just posting or sharing a link to any news report of foreign media on your social media platforms as an individual.

This 6th item bans non state-owned companies from hosting forums, summits, award and selections activities in the news and public opinion sectors. This means you cannot even organize a meeting to discuss any news or media related issues, or give awards to a reporter or a media company that you think is good.

Well, pretty comprehensive, right? It seems to me that there is virtually nothing you can do in China in the news and public opinion sectors as a non-state owned company or an individual.

A while ago I did two programs about the flooding in Zhengzhou City. A lot of videos, photos, and information I used in those two programs came from Chinese social media platforms.

But imagine, after this ban is officially implemented, posting similar videos, pictures or information about a natural disaster in China on your own social media account will become illegal too, as you are not state-owned capital.

Nowadays we rely on four channels to learn what is happening in China: the CCP’s official mouthpieces, non stated owned Chinese media, reports from foreign media, and individuals.

So after this ban is in place, I guess we can only get things from the CCP’s official mouthpieces, as foreign reporters are already having huge problems doing their jobs in China, and Chinese netizens will be silenced too.

The CCP didn’t say when this new policy will take effect, but people are already feeling the chilling effect, as it can happen anytime now.

Alibaba’s Jack Ma Sells off Media Asset

Right after this “negative list” was released, on Oct 12, Chinese media reported that Alibaba’s Jack Ma has sold all its shares in Chinese media Caixin.

This is the English website of Caixin.

And this is the Chinese site.

Public information shows that Jack Ma’s Ant Group invested tens of millions of yuan in Caixin in 2016.

Talking about Caixin, we must give a little bit of introduction of it. It is one of the most influential non-state owned media in China. It has a relatively good reputation, and often conducts in-depth investigations on hot issues.

For example, just a while ago, it published an in-depth report about China’ biggest real estate developer Evergrande, which we also reported about.

Several years ago, at the peak of Xi Jinping and China’ vice Chairman Wang Qishan(王岐山)- This is a picture of Wang Qishan, who is also the former Party Secretary of CCP’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, which is in charge of inspecting and disciplining party members, and is a very powerful organization, the CCP’s internal anti-corruption body.

So several years ago, at the peak of Xi Jinping and Wang Qishan’s anti-corruption campaign against a lot of high ranking CCP officials, because of the good relationship between Wang Qishan and Caixin’s founder and publisher Hu Shuli(胡舒立), Caixin was often chosen as the media outlet to release information regarding the anti-corruption campaign: Who had been targeted for what, who would be the next target; and what kind of punishment the targeted ones would get, etc.

So it had more inside information even more than the CCP’s official mouthpieces.

So at one stage, Hu Shuli was called “the most dangerous woman in China”, as she often exposed bad things about the officials, so whoever was exposed by her would be in danger of being targeted.

So now let’s go back to Jack Ma.

We all know that the IPO of Jack Ma’s Ant Group was stopped by the CCP last November. It would have been the world’s largest ever IPO.

Since then Jack Ma disappeared from the public eye for a long time.

Several days ago, it was reported that he appeared in Hong Kong and met several business partners. But nobody knew what they had talked about.

So the news of Jack Ma selling off his shares in Caixin media came out on the same day when he visited Hong Kong. So people naturally think that:

One, Jack Ma’s sales of Caixin shares is related to the media ban we talked about.

Two, Jack Ma’s Alibaba still owns South China Morning Post in Hong Kong. It obviously is not a state-owned media company.

Why was Jack Ma’s Ant Group and Alibaba punished by the CCP? It was said that Xi Jinping was not happy about such big capitals, as well as influential media such as Caixin, are not in his hands,

So Jack Ma’s sales of Caixin’s share could be a sign that he wants to make peace with Xi Jinping, so that he can be allowed to continue to do business in China at a shrunken scale.

The Shocking “Pig’s Head” Story

When talking about Caixin, Hu Shuli and media control in China, we must mention another incident that has been very, very hot on Chinese media.

On Oct. 2, Hu Shuli shared a picture of several pig heads on her Chinese social media platform WeiBo account, with the following sentences:

“If the pig’s heads are cooked well, they are quite delicious. The pig’s head is not well received nowadays because of people’s notions. With such a bad reputation, who would want to establish a strategic partnership with pig’s heads at the dinner table? ”

You know, pig’s heads are also edible food in China, so that article is actually from the food and life section of Caixin media, and Hu Shuli was just sharing that article.

However, in China, many people know that one of Xi Jinping’s nicknames is Pig Head Xi. If you search with Pig Head Xi in Chinese, you will get these kinds of pictures.

I think people call him Pig Head to express the idea that he is very stupid, and looks a lot like a pig.

In China, because there is no freedom of speech, when people want to express something, they always try to use code language, or use very indirect ways to express themselves.

So when Hu Shuli, as a veteran media professional, and the “most dangerous woman in China” actually shared pictures of pig heads, and said that because of the pig head’s bad reputation, nobody wants to establish a strategic partnership with it, everybody couldn’t help thinking that she was talking about Xi Jinping, and criticizing him for being incompetent and making a mess with China’s diplomatic relations with other countries.

And, because of Hu Shuli’s special relationship with Wang Qishan, people also started to speculate: Is it Wang Qishan who actually asked Hu Shuli to do such an outrageous thing? Is Wang Qishan openly challenging Xi Jinping?

Some people say yes, some people say no. But almost everybody agrees that a person like Hu Shuli wouldn’t just casually post anything without a reason, or some kind of hidden message.

Some even said that Hu Shuli was arrested because of this.

Well, after the proposed media ban was announced on Oct 8, that is, 6 days after Hu Shuli shared that shocking Pig’s Head post, people started to say that Hu must have learned that such a media ban would be announced soon, and, Caixin media of hers, as a non state owned media company, would have no future in China. So she posted the Pig’s Head Picture to express her anger and despair. Whether she posted it or not, Caixin won’t have a future anyway.

Famous Media Personnel Arrested for a Social Media Post

On the same day of the release of the media ban, that is, Oct 8, the CCP’s police announced that another very famous media personnel Luo Changping was arrested for “insulting” the CCP soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Korean War against the US.

So this is a picture of Luo Changping. He is the former deputy editor-in-chief of Caijing magazine, which was also founded by Hu Shuli in 1998. Hu later left Caiing and founded Caixin in 2009.

So from this sense, Luo Changping must have very close ties with Hu Shuli, as Luo Changping once worked as the deputy editor-in-chief of the magazine that was founded by Hu Shuli.

Remember in our last show we talked about the CCP’s brainwashing movie “The Battle of Lake Changjin” to glorify the CCP’s victory in the Korean War?

Well, while the mainstream voices are praising this movie, Luo Changping posted on his Weibo account on Oct 6 to criticize the movie. He said, “Half a century later, people in this country seldom reflect on the justice, or justification of this war, just as the sand statue company back then would not question the decisions of their superiors. As for this war, there is no need to make too many comments, just look at North Korea and South Korea now, and the answer is crystal clear.”

So he is indicating by comparing the current situation of North Korea and South Korea, it is needless to say that the CCP had fought a foolish war. The soldiers sacrificed their lives to defend North Korea, and North Korea is far, far worse than South Korea. So he was questioning why we should fight that war?

He used the word “sand statue company” to refer to those soldiers who were frozen to death. By the way, this photo you are seeing is not from the movie. It is a real photo of those CCP soldiers who were frozen to death.

Actually those soldiers are officially referred to as “ice statue company” . So people would think that Luo Changping made a typo when he used the word “sand statue” instead of “ice statue”.

However, in Chinese language, the pronunciation of “sand statue (沙雕)” is Sha Diao; and Sha Diao can also means stupid losers(傻屌). The pronunciation is the same, but stupid losers are written differently.

So you can say that Luo Changping tried hard to not to sound too rude by typing in “sand statue” instead of “stupid losers”. However, he was still arrested for “insulting national heroes.”

His arrest has sent a lot of shock waves to Chinese netizens, as he has millions of followers in different Chinese social media platforms and is a very famous influencer.

People are also speculating whether his arrest means Hu Shuli will be in trouble soon, or whether this means that Xi Jinping once again had an upper hand in the power struggle with his political enemies.

Anyway, just yesterday, it was reported that Microsoft’s LinkedIn is also leaving China due to “challenging operating environment”. This marks the biggest departure from China by a major tech company in years.

So, you see, even foreign companies are feeling the pressure, let alone Chinese companies.

Why the U-Turn Now?

The last question is, why is Xi Jinping doing this?

You know, entirely shutting down non-state owned media is not a small thing. This means the CCP is going to take 100% control of the information flow. What Chinese people can read and watch, what kind of information about China the outside world can get, all will be under absolute control of the CCP.

Only 11 years ago, in 2010, the CCP’s General Administration of Press and Publication issued a policy that encouraged non-state owned media to develop. That was why media companies such as Caixin could develop to what they are today.

Now, 11 years later, the CCP did another U turn on this issue.

Why? The only explanation is:

11 years ago, the CCP still wanted to “tell the China story well” to the international world, and it knew that its official mouth pieces didn’t have a good reputation in the world, so it encouraged non state owned media to develop so that those media could tell the China story well on behalf of the CCP.

However, 11 years afterwards, the CCP is preparing to cut ties with the world, to close its doors again, and to go back to Mao’s time. And if it is really preparing for a war against Taiwan, it needs to have absolute control of the media too.

In any sense, whether this conclusion is true or not, this is not a small thing, and all decision makers, business owners and China watchers should all pay close attention to what is happening in China and why these things are happening.

Well, that’s all for today. Thank you very much for watching. Please do recommend my channel to your friends, colleagues and families so that more people get to know the inconvenient truths.

Thank you. See you soon!

Ten Benefits of “Taking Back Taiwan”, By CCP’s Top Strategist & Why Should Everyone Watch It? — Jennifer’s World

Hello, everyone, welcome to “Inconvenient Truths”. I am your host Jennifer Zeng.

Recently the tension in the Taiwan Strait is escalating. People are asking: Is WWIII coming? Well, today let me share with you some exclusive content that I found and translated, to give more food for your thoughts. Maybe you can draw your own conclusion after watching the videos I am going to play for you.

Xi Jinping Vows to “Reunify” Taiwan

First of all, let’s watch Xi Jinping’s speech at the event commemorating the 110th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution in Beijing, on Oct. 9. By the way, the Xinhai Revolution is also called the 1911 Revolution. It happened in 1911, when China’s last imperial dynastythe Qing dynasty, ended. It led to the establishment of the Republic of China, which was the first democratic republic in Asia. The real Republic of China is in Taiwan now. But the CCP always commemorates the 1911 Revolution too, to pretend that the CCP is the legitimate successor of the 1911 Revolution.

In order to save time, I have sped up Xi Jinping’s speech , so his voice may sound a little weird.

OK, I think everybody has understood his messages loud and clear. He is dead set on ‘reunifying Taiwan’, and anyone who is in his way will be eliminated.

Chinese Military Conducted Amphibious Drills Near Taiwan

Right after Xi Jinping’s speech, on Oct 12, the official website of the CCP’s Ministry of National Defense released a video of the CCP’s army PLA’s beach landing and assault drills in Fujian Province.

Now let’s watch this video together.

At the end of another video, they have a PLA commander saying that this drill has given the PLA a real war environment to test their beach landing combat capabilities, etc.

It is not clear when this drill was done. But the fact that the official website of the CCP’s Ministry of National Defense released it only several days after Xi Jinping’s speech makes it very clear that the CCP army wants to strengthen Xi’s speech with some real muscles.

Military and Police Officers Highlighted As Xi Jinping’s Audience

There is another thing to be noticed. Let’s see a screenshot from the video we just played:

So you can see these are police officers sitting in the audience.

There are also soldiers in the audience. Let’s see this picture, also captured from the CCTV’s report.

You can see those who are dressed in white color uniforms are from the CCP’s navy forces.

These are also PLA officers.

From the uniforms we can see that the PLA’s navy, air and ground forces, as well as armed police are all in the audience.

And the CCTV especially shows close up shots of these PLA officers in the audience for the entire world to see.

As far as I am concerned, there was no mention of military personnel attending the same kind of event during the 90th anniversary in 2001 or the 100th anniversary event in 2011. This is the first time that we saw military personnel attending this kind of event.

So what are the messages the CCP wants to give to the world?

Ten Benefits of ‘Taking Back’ Taiwan

Yesterday I spent the entire day translating a 10 minute speech by CCP’s top national advisor, Professor Jin Canrong, who is the deputy dean of the School of International Studies, Deputy Director of the Center for American Studies of Renmin University of China.

Chinese people all know that Renmin University of China means People’s University of China, and it specializes in training high level officials and cadres for the CCP. So it is a very important university.

The reason that I chose to translate his full speech on the “ten benefits” of “taking back Taiwan” is that through his speech, we can see what is on the CCP and Xi Jinping’s mind. Some people might dismiss his speech as nonsense, but, the problem is, Xi Jinping might think the same, so we’d better learn how they think to know how they may act later.

So, let’s play and talk about his “ten benefits” one by one.

A lot of commentators have talked about the same point regarding how the so-called “First Island Chain” matters to the CCP as they need direct access to the Pacific Ocean.

So this is a map of the “First Island Chain”. The red line represents this chain, which has played a very important role during and after WWII in terms of blocking the CCP.

So the CCP of course wants to break this chain by occupying Taiwan.

Now, let’s go to benefit 2.

So this “One hundred years of Humiliation”, or “Century of Humiliation”, has always been THE most important talking point for the CCP to incite blind nationalism, as it is almost the last straw the CCP can hold on to, to justify its rule in China.

Michael Pillsbury, a China expert, has discussed this “One hundred years of Humiliation” mentality in detail in his book , “The Hundred-Year Marathon: China’s Secret Strategy to Replace America as the Global Superpower”. So if you are interested in learning more, please get a copy of that book and read it.

Now, let’s go to benefit 3.

This one is very short, but very important for us to understand why “unifying Taiwan” is so important for Xi Jinping.

Xi obviously wants to establish and leave behind his own legacy, one that is as great as Chairman Mao’s . If Mao had established the “New China”, what can Xi Jinping do to be as great as Chairman Mao? Perhaps “taking back Taiwan” is his only choice.

Now, benefit 4.

Did you notice? He said the “War to Resist the US Aggression and Aid Korea” was a war that founded our nation. The CCP also calls the Korean War fought between North Korea and South Korea from 1950 to 1953 the “War to Resist the US Aggression and Aid Korea”. And it always tells Chinese people if we had not sent troops to fight against the American invaders, our dear motherland China would have been occupied by Americans long ago, and Chinese people would have all become slaves of Americans, so everybody in China now should thank the CCP and Chairman Mao for preventing that from happening.

Recently the CCP released a magnificent movie to glorify that war.

Let’s see a picture, or a poster of that movie, which is called “The Battle at Lake Changjin”. Lake Changjin is the Chinese way of saying it. In the US, it is called “Lake Nagatsu”.

Although the truth of that war is, the North Korea invaded the South Korea, and the US army got involved as part of the UN force, and the CCP’s army suffered 10 times more casualties, and thousands of their soldiers were actually frozen to death because the CCP didn’t give them warm clothes, and just sent them to Korea to die, all these facts didn’t stop the CCP from glorifying the war as its “founding war” for CCP’s new China.

So, Xi Jinping needs something similar, to glorify himself too.

The new movie “ The Battle at Lake Changjin “ was just released during the CCP’s National Day holiday, but it was so hot that it broke the record of box office revenue. On its second day of release, that was, on Oct. 1, it broke the single-day box office record in China, reaching 389 million yuan. One week later, on Oct 8, the revenue reached 3.492 billion yuan.

So that’s how popular this movie is. I heard schools are asking parents to take their children to the movie and take pictures of them inside the cinemas to prove that they have watched the movie. So this is a brainwashing movie of the CCP.

Brainwashing or not, what we should be concerned about is: Why did the CCP spend so much money to create such a movie and release it now?

Now, let’s go to benefit 5 of Jin Canrong’s speech.

Did you notice the applause of the audience after he says that we can immediately nationalize TSMC after we take back Taiwan?

TSMC is Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, it is producing 56% of chips for the world, and is worth more than $565 billion. It is the 10th most valuable company in the world.

In the meantime, one of the CCP’s most important companies Huawei couldn’t even make a new smartphone after the US cut chip supplies to it.

See the difference? So, the CCP really does have one more motivation to invade Taiwan.

Now, benefit six.

So, from this, we can see that what the CCP fears about Taiwan is Taiwan’s democracy and freedom.

You know, when the CCP fools people, it always says that the quality, education level, or whatever level of Chinese people is too low, or the national character of Chinese people is not suitable for democracy. But people would ask, how about Taiwan? Taiwan has the same Chinese culture, and the same Chinese people, why is Taiwan suitable for democracy but mainland China is not?

So in this sense Taiwan will always be a thorn in the CCP’s side. That’s another reason why the CCP wants to eliminate Taiwan’s democracy and freedom.

Now, benefit 7.

The reason he gives out is that 90% of telecommunication fraud is committed by Taiwanese. I don’t know how true this argument is, maybe he just wants to make the benefit numbers to 10, so he puts this one there too.

Now, Benefit 8.

So his arguments are, in order to “liberate Taiwan”, the CCP has to build a lot of military bases along the coastline, after Taiwan is conquered, the CCP can move all these bases to the east of Taiwan, so China’s economy won’t be affected.

He also says that flights in the southeast coast area in China are often delayed, and 70% of the delays are caused by military reasons. Because the military aircrafts need to fly, civil flights have to wait.

He also says that after we take over Taiwan, we can have our aircrafts fly to Japan and Australia’s directions everyday to do exercises, and let their flights be delayed.

Now, benefit 9.

I must say I was a little surprised about how frank he was when he admitted that the CCP has to pay 30 billion yuan, or about $4.65 billion every year to bribe those African countries for them to say we support one China policy, and Taiwan is part of China, etc.

So of course this is a big financial burden for the CCP.

Now, the 10th, and last benefit.

Now, that is another rare admission from a CCP guy about the CCP’s ambition to become the “new boss” of the world.

The CCP has a very famous term to describe all important battles, and the term in Chinese is 你死我活, which means you die, I survive, or you die, I live on. So in the CCP’s eyes, the game is always about “you die, I survive”.

And I really want every politician in the world, especially from western countries to watch how this CCP guy describes them as “very snobbish, very practical”, “opportunist countries without principles, they will run after whoever is the boss.”

To be frank, I kind of agree with this CCP guy in this argument of his. If we look back at the history of the past several decades, we will find that what this guy says has a lot of truth in it. Haven’t many politicians, elites acted exactly like “very snobbish, very practical opportunists without principles”?

To be able to make money in China, they don’t care about principles. I think now everybody in the world is paying a price because of this.

So that’s why I think everybody should watch this video.

Now, the ending part of his speech:

So this is his conclusion. He is trying to tell Xi Jinping, now we’ve accumulated enough power, enough strength. Now it’s time for us to display our will to use this power, once and for all, to achieve our last, great strategic goal.

Well, according to the Chinese characters on his computer, this speech was done in Taiyuan City in China, probably on Aug 22, and was one of the series lectures called “Beautiful Life Shared with 10K Families”. Reports about that event have been deleted from the Chinese websites .

When I did the translation yesterday, the reports were still there. Maybe after I translated this video, and released both the video and the English and Chinese scripts of his speech, the CCP thinks too many national secrets were exposed, so they deleted the reports.

By the way, the entire 10 minute video of Jin Canrong’s speech is on my another channel called “ Inconvenient Truths: First Hand from China “. So you can go there to watch the entire video if you want to.

If you want to save time, you can go to my website at jenniferzengblog.comjenniferzengblog, one word, .com to read the transcript, both in English and China languages of his speech.

Well, that’s all for today. If you like my content, please do subscribe to and share my channel. Please also like my videos and leave some comments to let me know what you think.

Thank you very much. See you next time!

CCP National Advisor Jin Canrong: Ten Benefits of Taking Back Taiwan, We can Nationalize TSMC Immediately.

(Jennifer’s note: Below is the English translation of a speech made by the CCP’s “national advisor Jin Canrong, Deputy Dean of the School of International Studies, Deputy Director of the Center for American Studies of Renmin University of China. The speech was uploaded to his own YouTube channel on Sep 23. The word “Falun Gong” was muted in his video, but judging from mouth shape and the context, I concluded that the muted word is “Falun Gong”. ).

There are at least ten major gains from solving the Taiwan problem.

First, our country’s strategic position will be improved.

Our China is very interesting, China is actually a complex country with both land and sea territories. We have 10 million square kilometers of land, in fact, we have 4 million square kilometers of territory at sea. Our coastline is particularly long, from Dandong to Beihai in Guangxi Povince, 18,000 kilometers of coast, and the recent land resources survey found that we are a country of 10,000 islands, we have 11,000 islands off the coast.

China actually has good marine conditions, but it turns out that we have a weakness, that is, we do not go out far from the sea border. There is the first island chain, we are sealed inside.

But if we take back Taiwan, Taiwan is in the middle of the first island chain, after we defeat Taiwan, won’t we directly face the Pacific Ocean? The whole geopolitical position will have been improved. This is the first benefit.

Second, if we solve the Taiwan problem, our hundred years of national shame will be completely turned over. Taiwan is the last page of a hundred years of our national humiliation. After this page is solved, won’t our hundred years of national shame be turned over? We Chinese people will have much healthier mentality and be more confident. This is good for our future development.

Now this kind of inferiority complex, self-colonization, self-stigmatization have having very bad influence in many aspects, including the development of our science and technology. In our science and technology community in China, many have the problem of [blindly] worshiping and flattering foreigners. Many scientists are trained in the United Kingdom and the United States, their mission for life, is to use Chinese materials, to prove their American teachers’ propositions, and then published them in the United States and Britain’s prestigious magazines. Then they use them to become [China’s] academicians.

In this case, aren’t all of China’s first-class intellectual resources and the nation’s financial assistance at the service of others? How can you innovate if you don’t even dare to ask basic questions?

After the Taiwan problem is solved, the whole nation’s self-confidence will rise, that’s real self-confidence, and only at that time will there be real innovation to lead.

This is the second [benefit].

Thirdly, the taking back of Taiwan, of course, will completely lay the connotation of Xi Jinping’s new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

The fourth benefit is about the status of our military. It will certainly take a step up. In the 72 years since the founding of our country, our army has fought many battles, many hard and great battles , but from point of view of the historical and international comparison, from the two perspectives of historical and international comparison, all the battles that our army has so far fought, are all self-defense counterattack ones. When others attacked us at our border, we went to self-defense counterattack, didn’t we?

Taiwan will be the first case, that is, my grandfather lost this piece of territory, and I go take it back.

The War to Resist the US Aggression and Aid Korea was a war that founded our nation, and after that war, no one dared to invade us, and [the war to take back] Taiwan will be a war of unification and rejuvenation.

After this battle, the status of our army will definitely be greatly upgraded. At that time, the PLA, our PLA officers and cadres, it will be much easier for them to find a wife. Their salaries will not only be doubled, but also increased by many times.

The fifth is a very practical benefit, after taking back Taiwan, we can immediately nationalize TSMC. [We can] add it to our Micron Tech, plus our SMIC.

Sixth, solving the Taiwan problem is actually very good for our political stability.

I personally believe that Taiwan should be the main source of the “color revolution” in mainland China, but of course he is cooperating with the United States, the United States and Taiwan work together, but Taiwan is the main source.

Did you notice, Taiwan is the main source of money behind [Falun Gong], behind the pro-democracy activists, behind the Hong Kong Independence, Xinjiang Independence and Tibet Independence. Taiwan regularly spreads misinformation on our network, and it is Taiwan that fosters those popular anti-party accounts that incite hatred toward our party and our nation. They also attack popular people like me who spread positive messages. I can also be counted as a popular influencer on the internet, and I am a positive energy one. But it[Taiwan] attacks me on a regular basis, attacking me for nothing. My son’s wedding was a very normal one, held in my hometown of Wuhan. We had only eight tables, in line with the regulations. But they hyped on this, saying that I hold a grand wedding for my son in the United States, and it was on Oct 1 of last year. How could I go to the US then?It was impossible. They openly made it up, all done by Taiwan.

So after we take back Taiwan, won’t the political stability be much better? This is the sixth.

The seventh, after the Taiwan issue is resolved, social stability will be better. Why? I don’t know if there are any public security friends here, public security friends should know that now in our country, in our mainland, the biggest criminal offense is not theft of bicycles, no more theft of bicycles, nor theft of wallets, because we don’t put money in wallets [any more].

What is the №1 crime now? It is wire fraud. 90% of the wire frauds are done by Taiwanese. 90%. Taiwan’s netizens are quite proud of this, claiming that there are three major pollution-free industries in Taiwan, the first being tourism, the second being what? The second is the pornography industry, which Taiwan’s Minister of Health Chen Shih-chung calls “the industry that connects people” .

The third is telecommunication fraud. So if we solve the Taiwan problem, won’t the social stability be much better? The telecom crime will decline, the society will be stable. So this is the seventh.

Seventh, so this is the seventh.

What is the eighth? Solving the Taiwan issue, in fact, will be beneficial for our coastal economy. It will go up to the next level.

Why? You know, Taiwan is our military’s first major task, right? To solve the Taiwan problem, our country has invested a lot of resources, starting from Shandong, in Shandong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, and Hainan, we have deployed a large number of military bases, in order to solve the Taiwan problem, and this even affects our economic development.

If the Taiwan problem is solved, won’t all these military facilities between Taiwan and us be greatly reduced? After that our entire defense line can be transferred to the east of Taiwan.

The east of Taiwan is precisely more backward, Taiwan’s really good place are in the west, facing the mainland, at this side, Taipei, Taichung, Tainan are all in the west, the far east of Taiwan itself is very backward, after [we take back Taiwan] our main, I suggest that our aircrafts, that is, our air force, navy and missile bases, all be moved to the east of Taiwan.

I travel a lot, now when I fly to the southeast coast, the flight are often delayed, flights to Shanghai, Fujian, Hangzhou are often delayed. My student at the Civil Aviation Bureau told me that 30% of the delay are caused by the weather, 70% are by military reasons. Whenever Taiwan, Japan, the United States, and Australia’s aircrafts move, our aircrafts immediately have to be mobilized too, and affect the civil flights.

So after the Taiwan problem is solved, our country’s flight punctuality will be greatly improved, and then I suggest that our air force base be moved to the east of Taiwan, missile base also be placed there, radar as well, and then our aircrafts can fly to Japan and Australia’s direction everyday to do exercises, let their flights be delayed. OK, this is the eighth.

Ninth, Taiwan is our, really a diplomatic soft underbelly for us, making us quite uncomfortable. The United States attack us every day [because of Taiwan], many other countries also bully us, even African countries are bullying. Many African countries, their leaders ran to China. They had nothing to do, just doing sightseeing in Beijing, eating some good food, and then seeing Chairman Xi, with only one sentence, we firmly support the “one China” policy, Taiwan is an integral part of China. Immediately after that, they asked for the money, boss, give us money. They really asked for money, as bold as brass.

Every year, which, according to Tsinghua University teachers, every year, we spend about 30 billion yuan to maintain this [one China] principle, every year. The price is still very big, right? So the ninth benefit is, [we won’t have this cost].

Tenth, very important, if we solve the Taiwan problem, we’ll really establish China’s new international prestige, then it is likely that the international landscape will be changed in one night, because if we have determinedly taken back Taiwan, and the United States couldn’t do anything, and could only yelling uselessly, our international image will have changed, everybody will know that the original boss is no longer good, his body is weak, the new boss is here.

They definitely will not be…many people are worried that if we take back Taiwan, the world will follow the United States to besiege China. In fact, they won’t. I traveled a lot. I have been to the United States more than 100 times, Korea more than 100 times. I’ve been to more than 80 other countries. They are all opportunist countries without principles, they will run after whoever is the boss.

When everybody sees that the new boss is here, I tell you, nobody will follow the old boss anymore, know it? If you follow the [old] boss, it’s like being a traitor [and running after the Japanese] in 1945, and joining the Kuomintang in 1949. No one will do this.

I think after Taiwan is taken back, the vast majority of countries will begin to turn to China, they are very snobbish, very practical, so the international situation for us after that will be very good.

By the way, in the field of international relations, a large part is the science of strategy. The science of strategy tells us how to establish our leadership position strategically.

There is a trilogy, the first step, you have to have power, really have strength. If you go to the battlefield without strength, you will soon be killed. You really need to have power, practice your kung fu well, then you can go out of your mountain [to fight].

The second, you have to have the will, really dare to use your power.

Thirdly, you really have to use your power once. Then people will be conquered by you.

I’d say our country has done enough to accumulate power, now under the leadership of Chairman Xi, we also have the will to use it, but we really have to use it one more time.

So after we use it on Taiwan, I think we’ll achieve it, we’ll achieve our purpose.

Widespread Power Blackouts in China: Coal Shortage? Or the Need to Invade Taiwan? — Jennifer’s World

Hello, everyone, welcome to “Inconvenient Truths”. I am your host Jennifer Zeng.

Recently there is another event in China that has had a very big impact on many aspects, and that is the large scale power shortage. Over 20 provinces out of 31 have experienced blackouts, and people joked about going back to the stone age in one night. So why would China, as the second largest economy in the world, suddenly suffer from this low-level problem that people think only exists in North Korea? Today I’d like to talk about some “conventional” explanations, as well as an “unconventional” view, which is, the blackouts happened because the CCP is preparing for war. I will discuss this view at the end, so please do stick around.

Tragedies Caused by Power Blackouts

First, let’s talk a little bit about some facts on how bad the situation is.Notice from the water authority in Xinbei City in Jilin province

So this is a notice from the water authority in Xinbei City in Jilin province, saying that “According to the instruction of Northeast Electricity Authority and Jilin Energy Bureau about the orderly use of electricity, we will have irregular, unscheduled, unannounced power outages and power restrictions, which will last until March 2022, and power and water outages will become the new norm. ”

And they explained that the reason for cutting the water supply is because there is not enough power for the water station to work properly.

Right now this massive power shortage has not only affected factories’ production, but also affected people’s normal life, and even safety.

For example, on Sep 24, Liaoning Penghui Casting Factory had a gas leak due to equipment shutdown caused by power restriction. As a result, 23 people had to be sent to the hospital for treatment as they were exposed to the poisonous gas.

Now let’s see this.

A family of three in Northeast China almost died because of the power outage. This young man shared such a story on social media, saying that because of the cold weather, his family needed to burn coal to heat their home at night, and they used a fan to exhaust the waste gas out of the house.

However, due to a power outage, the fan stopped, resulting in carbon monoxide poisoning in the whole family.

Fortunately, because this young man’s mother had a heart attack in the middle of the night, and he woke up on time to discover the danger, and in a semi-conscious state, he called the ambulance, and saved the whole family.

When he posted this story on Sep 26, his parents were still in the hospital, and he himself also had to receive oxygen therapy every day.

He said he couldn’t help crying when he wrote about this experience, thinking about what a narrow escape they had. The whole family nearly died.

Some “Conventional” Theories

So, why, after experiencing decades of high speed growth-some people also call it an economical miracle-would China suddenly experience such a “low-level” problem and people need to burn candles in the night, and feel like they have gone back to the stone age?

These are the main reasons people listed:

  1. Power plants are not generating electricity as they make no money. In China, there is a price cap on electricity, but no cap on coal price. So when the coal price rises, the power plants make no money, or may even lose money if they generate electricity.
  2. Insufficient coal supply partly due to the CCP’s boycott of Australian coal
  3. The CCP wants to cut carbon emissions to make the Biden administration happy
  4. The CCP wants to force energy-intensive industries out of business and develop digital totalitarianism because big data centers need a lot of electricity to operate
  5. Xi Jinping’s political enemies want to create chaos for Xi Jinping to handle

There is another one that I don’t put on the card, as that one is too out of the imagination. Some so-called little pinks-by the way, “little pink” is a term used to describe brainwashed young Chinese nationalists and socialists on the internet-so some little pinks claim that the CCP is playing a big game with the US and the West. By limiting power consumption, China will have to produce less products, and raise the prices of exported commodities. As a result, the US and the West will have to suffer inflation when they buy from China. So China will win in the end.

You think this is too ridiculous? But this “big game” theory had been so popular that even the CCP’s official media had to come out to say, no, there is no such a big game, it’s just that the coal price is too high.

Well, which one do you think is most likely?

Talking about the CCP’s boycott of Australian coal, let’s watch a short video that I translated.

Actually, it was reported that as many as 25 countries have been importing Australian coal and then selling it to China. Interesting, right?

Many years ago, when I was in Australia, I had always tried to tell Australians that don’t be afraid of losing the CCP’s business, as the CCP needed Australia’s good quality resources more than Australia needed the CCP’s business. To maintain a high GDP growth rate, the CCP had to buy Australia’s natural gas, coal, iron ore, etc.

On the other hand, if the CCP didn’t buy Australia’s products and natural resources, Australia would have no problem selling them to other countries.

Well, that was more than 10 years ago when I said these. Unfortunately, it seemed that nobody understood, or believed what I said, and people were so frightened about losing the Chinese markets that the CCP had always used trade as a weapon to bully.

The Fundamental Reason for China’s Massive Power Outage

Price change in this commodity world is a very normal thing, every country and every business has to deal with it every day. Why are China’s power plants and coal supplies so vulnerable? This is the key problem we must talk about.

According to my contributor Guppy Dong’s research, up to now, 16% of China’s electricity comes from nuclear power and hydropower, 8% comes from the so-called “new energy”, including solar, wind, geothermal energy, etc, and 76% comes from coal. So the reliance on coal resources does exist in China.

As a matter of fact, China does not lack coal. Although it imports a lot of coal, it also exports it. For example, China exported 470,000 tons of coal in August 2021 , up 168 percent year-on-year and 176 percent from last month. In terms of the value of the export, China earned 216% more than last year from exporting coal.

But right now China’s coal price is twice the level of the international market. Why would it become so high? Because the government is controlling the prices, who can get the coal, and who can use how much of it.

There is a so-called “double priced system” in China. While state-owned enterprises and power plants can get low priced coal from the guaranteed supply system, other factories can only get the much higher priced coal from the so-called “free market”.

And how much is the price difference? The “basic price” for state-owned enterprises and power plants was only 430 yuan per ton, and has just risen to 700 yuan recently, while the “market price” for other factories is as high as 1580 yuan per ton.

So what will happen under this kind of circumstance? The coal companies found they can make more money by selling their product in the “free market” instead of selling it to the power plants; in the meantime, the state-owned power plants also found they if they bought coal at the lower, basic price, and then sold it in the “free market” at a much higher price, they could make more money than generating electricity. So why would they bother to generate power?

So what accompanies this double priced system is widely existing corruption, as it is very easy for officials who have the power to make money using the price differences between the two systems.

Recently, CCP’s Vice Premier Han Zheng issued an order to coal suppliers and power plants, and asked them to guarantee the use of coal for electricity in winter “at all costs”.

Whenever I hear “at all costs”, I feel terrified, as you don’t know what kind of new bottom line will be broken by the CCP to achieve its goals. This is actually the fundamental source of the CCP’s evilness. All means are justified if the goals are good in the CCP’s eyes.

And the CCP always adopts the most barbaric means to deal with any problem that arises. This is also the manifestation of its power and arrogance.

For example, when the CCP Virus hit, the CCP locked people at home, cutting off roads, nailing people’s doors, threatening to break people’s legs and teeth if they dare to go out. It also forced people to do dozens of virus tests. No matter what level of civilization humans have come to, the CCP will always remain at the level of barbaric mountain bandits.

A regime that always needs to control everything “at all costs” will always be an evil one.

So, the blackout in China, like all other evil in China, is a typical example of the CCP’s evil system!

Now, let’s move to the last theory:

Preparing for Invading Taiwan?

Is the CCP doing all these to prepare for a war?

Professor Frank Tian Xie from University of South Carolina Aiken thinks it is. His main arguments are:

According to China’s National Bureau of Statistics’ own figures,

“738.3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity was generated in August, up 0.2 percent year-on-year.” “From January to August, 5,389.4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated, up 11.3 percent year-on-year and 11.6 percent over the same period in 2019, a two-year average of 5.7 percent.”

So, the slowing down of the growth rate only happened in thermal, nuclear, wind and solar power sectors, but the total amount of power generation is still increasing!

2. The restrictions of power use only occur in coastal, eastern and northeastern regions. These cities are all the so-called “first tier” cities, which means they are relatively more politically important and economically developed cities. But in the less developed second and third tier cities, we haven’t heard about power usage restrictions.

So why would the CCP sacrifice first-tier cities that can produce more GDP and ensure the power usage of less developed second and third tier cities?

Frank Xie thinks it is because all the CCP’s military factories are in third tier cities, or hidden in remote mountain areas. And the CCP is ensuring power use for those big military factories that produce war related materials.

3. Also, western media have reported that satellite images reveal that China is building a second nuclear missile silo field, and constructing 120 missile silos in Gansu province.

Why is the CCP doing this? Of course preparing for war.

So the above are Professor Xie’s arguments.

I myself found another very interesting piece of news, that is, the CCP’s military, the People’s Liberation Army, PLA, has purchased a large number of war merit badges recently.

So these are the samples of the medals the PLA has ordered.

This is a table about how many were ordered for 2021. You can see the second column from the left is the types of medals, the second column from the right is the quantities of the medals.

This table is a comparison of the quantities of the medals ordered for 2021 and 2022, and the increase of the quantities.

So you can see from the top to bottom are the quantities for different levels of medals. For the fourth class war merit medal, which is at the bottom, the quantity for 2021 is 200, but for 2022, the quantity is 24,000, so that is 120 times the quantity of 2021.

So if you add all the numbers for 2022 together, that is 36,310 medals, which means the PLA is planning to give out this many war merit medals in 2022.

So what does this mean?

One Chinese netizen said, this means the CCP is planning to launch a war against Taiwan, and if 800,000 soldiers are going to be involved in the war, on average, one soldier out of every 22 soldiers will be given a medal.

So, the fact that the PLA had ordered so many war merit medals can also be an indication that the CCP is preparing for a war.

Another fact that everyone might have noticed is that the CCP flew record fighter planes to harass Taiwan after its “National Day” on Oct 1, and Taiwan’s president Tsai Ing-wen has given a very stern response to this by saying that “Taiwan stands united in our commitment to the values of democracy & freedom. And we will do whatever it takes to defend our values & our way of life.”

With this, more and more people feel that the possibility of a war between the CCP and Taiwan is increasing.

Also, since the so-called “reform and opening up to the outside world” policy made by CCP leader Deng Xiaoping, economic growth has been almost the only excuse for the CCP to stay in power.

But recently, not only has the growth slowed down, but many crises also emerged, such as the collapsing of China’s largest real estate property developer Evergrande, as well as the entire real estate industry. As a result, the financial security of banks and local governments is in great danger too.

So, under this kind of circumstance, Xi Jinping is in desperate need to create a new excuse for himself and for the CCP to stay in power. Unifying Taiwan could be his best option. Even if he successfully retains his power in next year’s 20th National Congress of the CCP, he will still need a big achievement to justify his lifelong power.

So when will the war break out? I think it depends on how desperate Xi Jinping is. So we do need to open our eyes and watch closely.

OK, that’s all for today. Thank you so much for watching. Please do subscribe to my channel, and share my videos as widely as you can. Truth is so important at such a time in such a crazy world.

Thank you. See you soon!
