Speech at “Stop Socialism Choose Freedom” rally at Washington DC on Sep. 19, 2019
I come from and escaped Communist China, which is referred to as “Socialism with Chinese Characteristics”. I don’t want to live in any sort of socialism again. But here in the U.S., I am starting to feel like it has followed me.
Not only many politicians are making socialism sound so sweet, but many young Americans are also warm to socialism.
But here’s what it really is:
In Communist China, the government, or rather; the Chinese Communist Party, the CCP, controls everything.
Because it controls everything, it can make all the rules, take away people’s liberty, property and dignity, and persecute them at will.
Ever since the CCP took power 70 years ago, more than half of the population has been persecuted one way or the other, more than 80 million people died of unnatural death.
My family and I suffered too. I was thrown into prison for 4 times, and sent to a labor camp, for simply practicing Falun Gong, a traditional mind, body, and spirit practice to improve mental and physical health.
The Camp felt like entering right into hell. From the very first moment, we were forced to squat motionless under the baking sun for more than 15 hours. Whenever someone could no longer endure the squatting or fainted, electrical batons (cattle prods) were immediately used on them, so they would be revived to continue their squatting.
On the second day, two police guards dragged me from the cell to the courtyard, threw me onto the ground and used electrical batons all over my body, until I lost consciousness.
Every day was a struggle between life and death. Apart from the endless physical and mental torture, we were also forced to endure slave labor. Most of the products we made were exported to overseas countries, including America.
We were also subjected to physical examinations and blood tests. The purpose? The data of our blood and tissue types were stored within the computer system, so that whenever someone was in need of an organ, the person who was a match could be killed on demand, so that his or her organs could be sold for organ transplantations.
This was not a plot in a horror novel or Hollywood movie, but a real and heinous crime perpetrated against innocent people.
During the past 20 years of the persecution of Falun Gong, the number of people killed for their organs could be millions.
And now the CCP has not only spread terror and violence amongst millions of Falun Gong practitioners, Tibetans, Uighurs, Christians, people of Hong Kong, but to the ordinary Chinese citizen. In fact, the CCP is hard at work expanding its influence and power across the entire world.
Ladies and Gentlemen, these are the realities of socialism in practice. Socialists promise you heaven on earth, but always end up giving you a one-way ticket to hell.
Right now there are two battlefields in the world. One is the war between the free world and the CCP; another one is within the U. S., between America’s founding principles, traditional values and the infiltration of Communism, which often manifests as various appealing socialist trends and ideas.
As a victim and survivor of “Socialism with Chinese Characteristics”, I fully understand the seriousness of the battles. That’s why I feel compelled to fight alongside you. We must fight very hard.
The CCP is smart, but not smart enough to stamp out the human desire for freedom.
So, let us learn from the example of the Hong Kong protesters and fight day after day, week after week, until we win.
Together, we will win!
