「看黃片及滿足性慾有錯嗎？」“Is It Wrong to Watch Porn or to Satisfy Ourselves Sexually?”

Recently I got a very tough question from someone interested in learning Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong): “Is it wrong to watch porn or to satisfy ourselves sexually per your morals?”

最近有個西人經我介紹，說有興趣學習了解法輪功，並從網上下載了有英文同聲翻譯法輪功創始人的講法錄像光盤，說閑時來聽。然後他問我道：「依你們的道德標準，看黃片及滿足性慾有錯嗎？」

I asked him to read through Falun Dafa’s main book Zhuan Falun to find out, but he insisted on asking me.

我讓他自己從《轉法輪》中找答案，但他堅持要聽聽我是怎麼說的。

So I gave it a thought, and replied like this:

我琢磨了琢磨，給了他如下回覆：

“Confucius says, desires for food and sex are human nature. So there is nothing wrong if people want food and sex.

「子曰：食色，性也。所以人想吃東西，想滿足性慾，都沒啥錯的。

“However, in Chinese culture, we talk about ‘the Golden Mean’. Having too much of anything is harmful to one’s health. Everything is a matter of how one balances everything.

「但是呢，中國文化中也講『中庸之道』。啥東西整太多了都有害健康。所以任何東西都有個度的問題。

“Also, people will die if they don’t eat; but they won’t die if they don’t have sex.

「再有呢，人不吃東西會死，不過性生活卻死不了。

“Also, apart from desires, and emotions, human beings also have rationality and morality. Otherwise, humans will be the same as animals.

「另外，除了慾望和感情外，人還有理智和道德。不然，人就跟動物一樣了。

“Again, it’s a matter of balance, boundary, and limitation.

「所以，這還是一個度、一個邊界、及一個平衡的問題。

“Sometimes it’s also a matter of choice. People make choices about what is most important to them or what they enjoy most.”

「有時候也是一種選擇。人們都會選擇他們認爲最重要的，或最喜歡的東西。」

After reading my reply, he said, “How can I argue with that?”

看了我的回答後，他說：「無可辯駁。」
