China’s Largest High School Student Newspaper Says It Didn’t Publish The Poem that Claims COVID2019 Originated in US 刊“新冠病毒回美国”诗作?中学生导报:刊号被盗

After a recent edition of High School Student Herald, the largest newspapers in China for high school students published a poem on its front page entitled “Coronavirus Finally Cries”, the editorial department issued a statement on April 28 saying that this edition was not published by High School Students Herald. The publication permit was stolen by somebody who printed this issue.

4月28日,中國大陸發行量最大的面向中學生的報紙《中學生導報》發布澄清消息說,一份近期報紙不是該報出版的,是「不法分子」盜用了其刊號。

The poem on the front page says that the virus regrets having traveled to China and wants to return to its “home” in the US. Below is the English translation:

這期頭版登了首詩,題目爲《新冠病毒終於哭了》(見下圖)。該詩表示病毒是從美國來的。

Coronavirus Finally Cries

I am going to leave,
I am going to return to the US
Once there, I am home…
I regret having come to China.
I just cannot live on here
There are too many “Shan” in China:
Houshenshan, Leishenshan, Zhongnanshan…
The Chinese government is too tough
They say lockdown
Everything is locked down
Their medical workers are too tough
All rushing to the epicenter to help
One another another
They are just too tough!
