“Your Sharing Is Important and It Makes a Difference in the World! “

By Tim Ellis

Hi Jennifer,

I am beginning to think maybe I should start of blog like yours sharing my thoughts and stories and feelings. Maybe I will one day-who knows? 🙂

I wanted to say to you about the value and impact of the things you write. Maybe at times you wonder if anyone has really heard and understood the meaning behind and within what you write, or you worry if it will make a difference or not.

The truth is it does make a difference. I know as a teacher many times I try so hard but then doubt if my students really listened and there a few days later they do something or say something that shows me just how much they really did listen intently and seriously and it makes me happy again.

Yesterday I was talking with two students and talking about wisdom and how valuable it is…even so much more value than intelligence! Constantly in my mind were the stories you wrote about the wisdom of your daughter when she was younger. This helped me explain wisdom so much better to my students.

It also made me think myself – from where does wisdom come? Are some people born wise? How come some people grow wise as they grow older and others never do? How is it that some people have so much truth and wisdom in them even when they are so young – like your daughter.

I think the answer came to me- and that is that wisdom is so much related to values and to love. I see the values you taught your daughter when she was very young. These values allowed her to find wisdom too at an early age.

I am reminded of some of the stories you told -one about paying for tickets with her one day?

Its made me see now that as I get older and see more wisdom and want to share it, I can see how much any wisdom i do have links very strongly to the values my parents taught me and the stories they told to give me those values.

Why I write these things is so you don’t ever doubt the impact your stories and your sharing have because look at how your stories are still alive and helping me and my students in a classroom in Australia-thousands of kilometres away.

Your sharing is important and it makes a difference in the world!
Tim 🙂
